Caffeine is of course a major component of every day drinks such as tea and coffee and is also included in Tri-Matrix . It is claimed that over 70% of the American population take more than 300 milligrams daily. As well as in familiar drinks it is used in energy drinks such as Red Bull as well as in many over the counter analgesics and other medication. Medically it is a as trimethylxanthine, useful as a heart stimulant and it also works as a mild diuretic. It works in the same way as certain drugs, the amphetamines, cocaine, and heroin, all of which work on the action of the brain although in a milder way, and like them it is addictive.

It has been commonly used as a gelling agent in food, pharmaceutical, photography, and cosmetic manufacturing.
Green Tea Extract, a bioflavonoid rich, potent extract used primarily for fighting free radicals. It contains a high content of polyphenols, which are a class of bioflavonoids. Green tea extract contains a potent antioxidant, EGCG, which is over 200 times more powerful than vitamin E in neutralizing the pro-oxidants and free radicals that attack lipids in the brain. Green tea extract helps with thermogenesis and aids in the metabolism of fat. Green Tea has been used for years as a powerful antioxidant, it may also be helpful in shedding fat.
The most obvious benefit to dieters is that it works without increasing the heart rate most often found in diet aids. The increased heart rate leaves dieters jittery and eventually, most dieters stop using the supplement and gain weight back. Now through using green tea extract, dieters get the weight loss benefits without any of the jittery effects, especially in obese individuals with hypertension and other cardiovascular complications.
Guggulsterone is a plant sterol found in the resin of the guggul plant, Commiphora mukul. It acts as an antagonist of the farnesoid X receptor, which was earlier believed to result in decreased
cholesterol synthesis in the liver.
Hoodia Gordonii, which although popular, has no published randomized controlled trials in humans to show hoodia is safe or effective in pill form.
One study published in the September 2004 issue of Brain Research found that injections of p57 (The Active ingredient in Raw, Fresh Cut Hoodia, not dried) into the appetite center of rat brains resulted in altered levels of ATP, an energy molecule that may affect hunger. The animals receiving the P57 injections also ate less than rats that received placebo injections.
However, this was an animal study and INJECTIONS IN THE BRAIN are very different from oral consumption, so it cannot be used to show that oral hoodia can suppress appetite in humans.
Hoodia Gordonii is a succulent (a cactus of the aloe family) found in the Kalahari desert of South Africa.
Most Hoodia Gordonii products contain very little, if any of the active ingredient needed to suppress hunger. Real Hoodia is very rare and is even an endangered plant.
Most importantly, Hoodia has only demonstrated any effect in fresh, raw pieces of the plant. The effectiveness of powdered Hoodia has yet to be shown and may actually increase hunger.
It's main use is as a cheap alternative to the more expensive weight loss herbs, which are the only alternative left after the banning of ephedra. Most supplement manufacturers can not use the more expensive weight loss herbs because it will result in a product that would be too expensive to compete with other more popular inexpensive diet supplements.
L-5 Hydroxytryptophan, also known as Griffonia seed extract or L-5-HTP, is produced naturally from the Griffonia simplicifolia trees in West Africa. Africans have been using the extract for centuries for a natural wound healer and cure for kidney infections. L-5 Hydroxytryptophan has traditionally been used for many other treatments as well, including as a combat for stomach problems, to produce a higher libido, and as an internal cleanser. In recent times, L-5 Hydroxytryptophan’s best attribute has been its indication to increase serotonin levels in the brain, which means it works similarly to many antidepressants on the market, but in a natural form. This increase in serotonin provides users with a sense of serenity and calm as it is a natural tranquilizer.
Magnesium Stearate is coommonly used as a filling agent in the manufacture of capsules and tablets, such as vitamins, the source of this ingredient is typically bovine. However, there is an increasing number of vegetarian options in which the product specifically indicates it contains magnesium stearate from vegetable sources.
Octopamine is related to noradrenaline. Octopamine was discovered by Vittorio Erspamer, an Italian scientist in 1948. Octopamine has a significant role in mollusks and is the central nervous system in snail. Octopamine also has a vital role in memory and learning in the fruit fly and honey bee. Octopamine is also useful for the firefly in releasing the light production. Octopamine mobilizes releasing fat in mammals and this has developed into promotion as a slimming aid on the internet. However, there is no apparent evidence about Octopamine facilitating weight loss.
Octopamine also significantly increases the blood pressure in combination with stimulants such as weight loss supplements. This is extensively used in energy demanding insects such as spiders, lobsters, crabs and crayfish as their behaviors also include egg-laying, jumping and flying. Among vertebrates, Octopamine substitutes norepinephrine and as well exhibits common side effects. Octopamine is sited in the locust jump such that it modulates the muscle activity allowing the leg muscles to contract effectively.
Synephrine HCL- Designed primarily to encourage fat loss. This is achieved by stimulating the beta-3 receptors. Doing so increases the metabolic rate leading to fat loss.
Synephrine is a stimulant similar to caffeine and ephedrine and it is believed to provide an energy boost, suppress appetite and increase metabolism. The combination of all leads to burning more calories. Studies have stated that synephrine stimulates fat metabolism without the usual negative cardiovascular side effects.
The effectiveness of synephrine is increased by combining it with HCL. This allows for increased absorption and more solubility in water.
However regardless of the increasing popularity of synephrine HCL, there are still some debates over its over all effects and it being used as an alternative to ephedrine, a substance made illegal by many countries due to the side effects including heart disease.
