Alcohol and Weight Loss

Alcohol and weight loss sounds like the greatest diet plan anybodies ever come up with. Imagine being able to drink yourself skinny, using alcohol for weight loss. Alcohol and weight loss could very well become the number one weight loss diet in the land, if it were true.

Alcohol and weight loss is a tricky subject. Alcohol has calories, however they are empty calories. This is were the tricky part comes in, alcohol is not a food and it has no nutrients so technically it should be ok to consume alcohol and still lose weight. Except it does'nt work that way, alcohol does contain simple carbohydrates.

The problem is what the body does with these carbs. The carbs are turned into simple sugars, which if not used as energy, are then stored as fat. So alcohol and weight loss is not a good idea after all. On top of that alcohol also impairs the brains ability to correctly judge if your really hungry or full. Which of course means you may eat alot more than you might normally even if you were'nt trying to lose weight. Alcohol and weight loss just dont work, plain and simple.
